Arsenal fans and Bournemouth staff clash in angry scenes as stewards forced to step in

Arsenal fans were left furious following the Premier League defeat to Bournemouth, and some even clashed with staff from the Cherries' camp. Alex Scott scored the winner for Andoni Iraola's side in a 2-1 victory at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, dealing the Gunners a major title blow.'

Junior Kroupi had given the Cherries the lead in the 17th minute, before Viktor Gyokeres equalised from the spot in the 35th minute, but Mikel Arteta's side were unable to find the winner.

Scott scored in the 74th minute to ensure Bournemouth would take all three points back to the South coast, leaving the Gunners nine points clear of Man City, who now have two games in hand in the Premier League title race.

Boos rang out at the Emirates after the full-time whistle with fans making their feelings crystal clear.

Home supporters were also spotted in a heated exchange with one of the analysts on the Bournemouth bench, who leapt out of their seat and started celebrating after the full-time whistle.

The Cherries member of staff was escorted down the tunnel by stewards following the altercation, with Iraola's side unbeaten now in 12 games.

City take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge tomorrow afternoon in the 4:30pm kick-off, with Arsenal now looking over their shoulder.

When asked about the defeat, Arteta said: "Disappointing. It's a big punch in the face and it's about how we react now. They are a team who haven't lost for 11 games for a reason, they did a lot right.

"We were far from efficent. The first chance they had to attack the box, it's a deflection, a bad defending action and it's a goal. That's something we have to recover from.

"The second half you expect a different game. We did a lot of strange things today. We have been very consistent. This can happen, this is football."

When asked if the players were hurting, Arteta said: "A lot. It has to hurt. They have to take it on the chin. You stand up and go for the fight or you're out.

"It's a big week. A lot at stake. We're still in a good position in both competitions."
